Hi, I’m Dana and I’m glad you’ve stopped by.
My quilting story began in 1998 when I took my first quilting class. I was immediately hooked! Needing to keep up with the pile of quilt tops I was producing, I bought a hand-guided longarm in 2011 and set about learning all I could about longarm machine quilting. I have studied with many nationally known longarm machine quilters, including Karen McTavish (I am certified in the art of McTavishing), and Bethanne Nemesh of White Arbor Quilting. I have also taken a number of classes over the years at The Machine Quilter Expo. In 2022 I upgraded to a computerized Gammill longarm machine and my business, Sewphisticated Quilting, was born. Wanting to produce the highest quality product possible, I continue to hone my skills through formal Gammill training and lessons with a professional Gammill longarmer.
I have made many quilts and quilted projects of all shapes and sizes since I first picked up a rotary cutter, but there’s a special place in my heart for Civil War Era reproduction and vintage-inspired quilts. I know first-hand the time, effort, and expense that goes into making a quilt and I pay meticulous attention to the cleanliness of my quilt studio in my smoke-free home. So, no matter what type of quilt speaks to you, rest assured that I value your work and will always treat it with the utmost care and respect.
I am always happy to discuss any aspect of the project with you – including pattern, thread, and batting – to ensure I achieve the result you’re looking for. Allow me to take care of the machine quilting so you can get back to making more quilts! I’d be honored to take your future heirlooms one step closer to being done.
I look forward to working with you.
